Using old school hip hop as a tool to educate is an idea, but how viable is it? The best way to understand the answer to this question is to examine the era in which old school hip hop is referring to. When we speak of old school hip hop we think of the 90s. In the 90s the atmosphere was rich and the air was potent, you could smell the fresh breeze as it blew day and night, and it was soothing. This is the mood experienced when imaging the grooves of 90s hip hop music, its a crisp fresh feeling. Old school hip hop is a staple in the music game even today. Not to say that it was the best or better than any other version or style of music in history. It is to say that if old school hip hop has made its mark in the music game then we have to examine it deeper and understand why.

Its most prominent feature was its enlightening abilities, or the ability to be able to communicate to an audience willing to listen. When delivering vocals with musical arrangments music can get dangerous because the vocals come attached with a message. The danger in being able to deliver messages with music lies in the fact that the music can influence thoughts and provoke actions. Its dangerous to the racist white surpremacist because it allows all these different cultures to follow their own standard. Thus making the agenda of any one world anything impossible. Its dangerous to us if the messages being delivered make you go against your future self and well being. Each culture has their own music influences and set of artists that they follow, and a foreign culture may never hear of them.

Each culture would think independently

When we use music to deliver empowering enlightening messages, like the era of old school hip hop we develop our critical thinking skills. As we listen to different songs of the experiences of the different authors who create them, we develop these situations in our mind. We develop these situations in such a way that if we are ever involved in a situation similar to what we envisioned in the song, we already have a plan ready to deal with that particular situation. Just as most of us would say, “it would be a wise thing to do to listen to as many of these wise situations as possible to be ready for whatever may come”. Or maybe it will make our air feel more crisp. Lol

Affirmations is the Word I was Looking For

So in closing, the music you listen to does influence your thoughts wheather you know it or not. The wise thing to do is to listen to music based on good old fashion old school hip hop or hidden knowledge to influence economic power and great wealth as affirmations. Dont take it lightly, examine your situation and test it. Do you do what the guy in the song is doing, or is he doing what you are doing? And, would you be doing it (if you are doing it) if the music was not talking about it?
